Internal tools platform

A shared internal tools platform for an engineering firm. Employees signed in with Microsoft and found tools organized by department on the company network.

Employees and IT built new tools with Claude Code, with setup guides and shared context, through the company’s GitHub. A lock kept one editor per tool, the owner or IT approved changes before deploy, and usage was monitored.

Synchro report tables: exported PDFs read into report tables with deterministic code, in each office’s own format.

Observed trip generation: event times set the analysis windows for UBS Arena entrance counts; the tool found the peaks and built the tables.

Built for an engineering firm.

An engineer at her desk beside a browser window showing the firm's tool catalog: departments on the left, the traffic tools as tiles, and a new tool awaiting approval.

Crash Data Analysis

A crash-analysis workspace run on real NYSDOT records for Broadway (NY 107) at Bloomingdale Rd in Hicksville, released under FOIL: 55 crashes, 2021 to 2026.

Every record mapped by collision type, severity and zone, with a heatmap view.

Twelve charts with filters for zones, years, severities and date ranges.

A Signal Warrant 7 check.

PDF and Excel reports: the dashboard, the crash summary and collision diagrams.

Built by James McWilliams. Demo job.

A traffic engineer at a desk with an intersection map beside a browser window showing the crash tool's map of Broadway at Bloomingdale Road with every record plotted.

SOPs and standards

An engineering team’s procedures written as phases, tasks and steps, beside a standards library. New staff run a procedure in runbook mode, with verification checkpoints and a completion log.

The MUTCD and the Green Book in full text, navigated by table of contents.

A whiteboard on every step.

PDF and Word export with the formatting kept.

2025 – present.

A senior engineer showing a junior engineer a procedure on screen, beside a window of the ITE trip generation SOP with its steps and references.

Field records and invoicing

A Microsoft Access hub for a contractor. Field staff enter the bid-item quantities completed each day; at the end of each pay period the hub totals them and generates the invoices accounting submits to the municipalities.

Site photos organized and labeled in folders.

Utility restoration and patching work orders across Nassau County on a map, used to plan crew routes.

Built for Thomas Novelli Contracting Corp.

A paving superintendent with a tablet beside a window of the Access hub's daily quantities form, five items totaled for the day with an invoice button.
